தமிழர் இசைக்கருவிகள் -        நகரா ·         முழவு என்பது தமிழர் இசைக்கருவிகளுள் ஒன்றாகும். முழக்கம் என்ற சொல்லின் பொருளைக் கொண்டு முழவுக்குப் பெயர் அமைத்திருக்கலாம். பனைமரத்தடி, பலாப்பழம் போன்றவை இதற்கு உவமையாக சுட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன. ·         இது குறுங்கம்பு கொண்டும் கைவிரலைக் கொண்டும் அடித்துத் தாளவிசை எழுப்பிச் சுவைக்கும் கருவியாகும். ·         முழவு என்ற சொல் தாளக் கருவிகளைச் சுட்டும் பொதுச் சொல்லாகவும், ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட கருவியைச் சுட்டும் சொல்லாகவும் இலக்கியங்களில் இடம் பெறுகிறது. சிலப்பதிகார காலத்தில், தாளக் கருவிகளுள் 'தண்ணுமை' தலைமைக் கருவியாய் விளங்கியது. ·         "ஈர்ந்தண் முழவு", "மண்ணார் முழவு", "முழவு மண் புலர" போன்ற குறிப்புகள் மூலம் தண்ணீரால் தோலைப் பதப்படுத்தி இனிய ஓசையை எழுப்பியதையும், தோலில் ஒருவகை பசை மண்ணை இட்டு முழக்கியதையும், இம் மண் காலப்போக்கில் வறண்டு உதிர்ந்ததையும் உணரமுடிகிறது என்று 'மத்தளவியல்' என்ற நூலில் முனைவர் வி.ப.க.சுந்தரம் கூறுகிறார். ·         பதிற்றுப்பத்து கூறும் "பண்ணமை முழவு", சீவக சிந்தாமணியின் நச்சினார்க்கினியர் உரை கூறும் "இடக்கண் இளியாய் வலக்கண் குரலாய்", ஆகிய தொடர்கள் மூலம் பண்டைய காலத்திலேயே முழவிசைக் கருவிகள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன என்பதை அறியலாம்.மேலும் படிக்க
