பொருட்பால்– துறவற இயல்– நன்றியில் செல்வம்(யார்க்கும் நன்மை பயவாத செல்வம்)WEALTH THAT PROFITS NOT. அள்ளிக்கொள் வன்ன குறுமுகிழ வாயினும் கள்ளிமேற் கைந்நீட்டார் சூடும்பூ அன்மையால் செல்வம் பெரிதுடைய ராயினும் கீழ்களை நள்ளார் அறிவுடை யார். கீழோர் பெருஞ்செல்வமுடையவர் ஆயினும் அவரை அறிவுடையோர் அணுகார். பொருள்:     அள்ளிக்கொள்வு அன்னகுறுமுகிழவாயினும் கள்ளிமேல் கைநீட்டார் சூடும்பூஅன்மையால் - அள்ளிக் கொள்ளுதல் போல, நிறையச்சிறிய அரும்புகளுடையன வாயினும் அவை சூடும்மலர்களல்லாமையால் கள்ளிச் செடியின்மேல்யாரும் கை நீட்டமாட்டார்; செல்வம் பெரிதுடையராயினும் கீழ்களை நள்ளார் அறிவுடையார் - அதுபோலச் செல்வம் மிக உடையவர்களானாலும் அதுநன்மை பயவாமையின் கீழ்மக்களை அறிவுடையார்அணுகமாட்டார்.
