பொருட்பால்– துன்பியல் –ஈயாமை . துய்த்துக் கழியான், துறவோர்க்கு ஒன்று ஈகலான், வைத்துக் கழியும் மடவோனை,-வைத்த பொருளும் அவனை நகுமே; உலகத்து அருளும் அவனை நகும்.   ஈயார் மறுமையில்  வீடுபெறாமையேயன்றி இம்மையிலும் இகழப்படுவர் பொருள்: துய்த்துக் கழியான்துறவோர்க்கு ஒன்று ஈகலான் வைத்துக் கழியும்மடவோனை - தான் துய்த்துச் செலவழிக்காமலும்துறவடைந்த உள்ளத்தார்க்கு ஒன்று கொடாமலும்செல்வத்தை வாளாதொகுத்து வைத்து உயிர் நீங்கியொழியும் அறிவிலாதானை, வைத்த பொருளும் அவனைநகும் உலகத்து அருளும் அவனை நகும் - அவன் அவ்வாறுதொகுத்து வைத்த பொருளும் அவன் அறியாமை கண்டுஉலகத்தில் அவனை நகையாடும், அவன் அப் பிறவியில்தொகுக்காத அருளும் அவனை நகையாடும். Explanation(G. U. POPE): The miser contemptible.   The senseless man who spends not his time in enjoyment (of his wealth), and who gives nothing to pious devotees, but hoards and dies, his hoarded wealth derides ; all that is gracious in the world derides.
