பொருட்பால்– துறவற இயல்–  நட்பிற் பிழைபொறுத்தல்(BEARING AND FORBEARING IN FRIENDSHIP) இன்னா செயினும் விடற்பால ரல்லாரைப் பொன்னாகப் போற்றிக் கொளல்வேண்டும்; பொன்னொடு நல்லிற் சிதைத்ததீ நாடொறும் நாடித்தம் இல்லத்தில் ஆக்குத லால்.   விடத்தகாத நட்பினர் தீமைகளைச்செய்தார் ஆயினும் அவரை நீங்குதல் நலம் அன்று. பொருள்:     இன்னாசெயினும்விடற்பால ரல்லாரைப் பொன்னாகப் போற்றிக்கொளல் வேண்டும் - இடையே தீயன செய்தாலும்நட்புவிடுந் தன்மையரல்லாரைப் பொன்னைப்போல்மதித்துக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுதல் வேண்டும்;பொன்னொடு நல் இல் சிதைத்த தீ நாடொறும் நாடித்தம் இல்லத்தில் ஆக்குதலால் - ஏனென்றால்,பொன்முதலிய பொருள்களோடு சிறந்த வீட்டையும்எரித்தழிக்கும் இயல்பு வாய்ந்த தீயை நாடோறும்விரும்பித் தமது இல்லத்தில் வளர்த்தலால் என்க.   Explanation (G. U. POPE): Forsake not friends though they wrong you.
